“Time, time, time! Is what turns kittens into cats!”

One of my favorite lines of the show. What if time, turns kittens Spike wins at kitten poker, into cats and he has a bunch of cats to take care of?

This happens before Smashed and the downward spiral of Spuffy in season 6.

Buffy and the Scoobies soften up to him because Spike is a great cat dad. And maybe Buffy feels less depressed because she can play with and take care of the kittens Spike keeps as pets and has something she can bond and bicker over with him? 

Must have:
Spuffy HEA.
Spike and Buffy naming the cats, Spike keeps them as pets.
One of the characters saying this line: “Time, time, time! Is what turns kittens into cats!” (It doesn’t have to be the Loan Shark).

Can have:
Spike and Dawn friendship.
Buffy and Spike going to the pet store to get kitten supplies.
One of the cats ending up as a pet at the Magic Box.
Spike, or Spike and Buffy, teaching the kittens to do tricks. (No kittens are harmed during the process).
Spike getting high on catnip. 
Spike turning into a cat, how is up to the author.
All Human story. He doesn’t play kitten poker but someway, up to the author, Spike ends up with kittens.

Can’t have:
Character bashing.
Baby/kid fic.
Crossover with a different show or movie.
Buffy loathing herself.
