Story Notes: I wasn't entirely sure what to tag this as since it doesn't need to be read as a crossover, but it is an AU. You really don't need any knowledge of either The Mummy movie or Angel the Series to understand things. This fic will not use any named characters from The Mummy movie, they have all been replaced by BtVS counterparts! And, of course, not everything goes the same as in the movie, though the premise is definitely there. Some lines have been borrowed from both The Mummy and the TV show.
I do want to note that I have changed some things up with certain character relationships and character backgrounds (particularly Spike's background). There also will be character death. If you've seen the Mummy, you can see why this is pretty much unavoidable. Of course, Buffy and Spike will not die, but other characters will. So I'm very sorry if I kill off a favorite. I like pretty much all the characters, so I don't like to kill them off either, but it is a necessity here.

I've been working on this fic for months and finally got over the halfway completion point so I decided to start posting it because I got really excited! I love the Mummy and Buffy, so the next best thing is to combine them, obviously.
