Story Notes: I am turning into a big sap this month, which is maybe the exact opposite of my Spooky September fic. I HAVE LAYERS, okay?
Some of these slot into universes / AUs I've written before, some of which might be fics not on SAD yet (because I suck at crossposting) or WIPs. Some drabbles may be stories all on their own. All can be read without the context of the fic that inspired them. I will note when there's a specific version of Spuffy I had in mind while writing, for funsies. 
The title is a Tom Rosenthal song of the same name which I fell in love with recently and listened to on repeat when I was trying to come up with a theme for my drabbles. It helped!

Prompt: Cooking Together

So last year, I wrote this funny little (not yet cross-posted) story about Buffy and Spike accidentally binding their souls together (oops!). As a result, they can feel each other's emotions. That can be hella annoying, but it can also be a comfort, which I attempted to show here. Buffy isn't really cooking alone. This drabble is set a decade after the events of Binding Effects.

Oh my gosh, this prompt sent me into a research frenzy of 2012 concert tours. The concerts Buffy and Spike attend are the One Direction Up All Night Tour (which played the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on June 16th) and the The Killers Battle Born World Tour (which played THE SAME VENUE on December 9th of that year). None of this is necessary knowledge for the enjoyment of this drabble BUT I WANT TO SHOW I DID THE WORK HERE, OKAY?

Not set in any particular universe. Just plain old established relationship Spuffy.

This drabble was totally inspired by a fic I read that has Spike tending to Buffy's plants and is, if I remember correctly, also set after season 6. Canon season 7, because I love the tentative Spuffy in that season endlessly.

I loved this prompt so much. It gave me an excuse to write a scene for a fic I've been outlining (or slacking on outlining lol). It's a post-series reunion story which basically Spuffy-fies this cheesy German TV drama about wedding planners working on a cruise ship. Spike retired from demon fighting and trying to get Buffy back to buy a ship and found this demon-themed wedding planning company. Buffy gets thrown in the mix when she applies to sub for a wedding planner who has fallen ill—under a false name, of course—to investigate if there are actual, real demons on this weird cruise liner they've heard rumblings about. BOOM, run-in with Spike. Shenanigans ensue.

I'm not sure where this came from. It was the first idea I had this morning and wouldn't leave me alone even after I told it to shush. All that to say I empathize with Buffy in this drabble, lol. Established Spuffy, whenever, wherever, take your pick!
(I feel like I've read at least one story that named their daughter Violet, but I liked the name and didn't have time to check before my brunch plans. If it was you, hi! Hope you're not upset I sorta maybe stole the name. One of my new gymnasts is called Violet, that's more than likely why it popped into my head.)

Circling back to the rock concert tickets chapter in this one, lol. I was frustrated about only having ideas I wasn't excited about for this prompt until Ryan Gosling's Academy Awards performance of I'm Just Ken popped up in my YouTube feed. I'm sure this scenario has been done before, but not by me! Again, you can imagine this being the same version of Spuffy rocking out at a One Direction concert twelve years prior.

I was going to spend time justifying this not technically being a moment centered around their love for each other, but they are so obviously in love by the end of the series I'm proclaiming the subtext suffices to fit my theme.

Context for those who haven’t read Wraith: Spike died in the fight against Glory and Buffy is grieving his loss while also seeing him in her dreams (where he is corporeal) and in the waking world (where he isn’t ).

Prompt: Remember Me

So this one takes place sometime after the conclusion of a fic I have fully written but only posted the first chapter of (and only over on EF) so far because it still needs to be beta'ed. Overture (that mostly unpublished fic) is an AU season one story set in 2009/2010 that sees Buffy being Called in a world where the existence of demons is public knowledge and the Slayer is more of a keeper of the peace than someone who, well, slays demons. Spike is working for/enslaved by the Council and helps train her for this new role she's expected to play but has not been prepared for one bit, because no one expected the last Slayer to die so young (she died of cancer). Anyway, Buffy and Spike develop somewhat of a friendship despite Spike, who was best friends with the late Slayer, initially not wanting anything to do with her. And our Buffy, 18 years old and all alone in a new town surrounded by new everything, develops a serious crush on her vampire training partner. Cue this scene, set approximately six months after their first meeting. They've been through some stuff together but haven't addressed the elephant in the room. Until the night before.

What would a drabble event be without me calling back to another drabble event I participated in? Set shortly after the last chapter of To Still Be Wanting You (which I wrote for EF's Drabblemania last July). All you need to know is that Buffy and Spike have been back together for about half a year, and that they're at a costume party (HOW CONVENIENT, RIGHT?) dressed up as cookies and a milkman.
