Summary: Buffy, a small-town slayer with a great right hook, leaves the Hellmouth behind and follows her dreams to Los Angeles. She lands a job as a cocktail waitress at Caritas, a theater that houses an inspired musical revue led by Lorne, the proprietor. Spike, a 120-year-old (depending on the season) vampire, leaves Brazil behind and follows his dreams of killing the slayer to Sunnydale. Drunk and heartbroken, he makes it to Los Angeles before the whiskey he packed runs dry. He stops for a drink at Carnitas, right as the show begins.
