Summary: Spike comes to the Summers' house looking for help after his escape from the Initiative, and gets a little more than he bargained for when Joyce, Dawn, and (a rather reluctant) Buffy take him in. With Joyce in full mothering mode, Dawn seeing him as her cool older "brother", and Buffy slowly coming around to the chipped vampire, things are sure to get interesting! A story about family and platonic love.

Story Notes: Season 4, but very AU. Basically, season 4 with Dawn and no Riley. Buffy lives at home and not at college (though she is taking classes). Oz never left town, and he is now in a polyamorous relationship with Willow and Tara (Willow and Tara are dating, Oz and Willow are dating, and Oz and Tara are friends-- honestly, I think they'd get along very well as friends!). Spike spent a little longer trapped in the Initiative lab than is canon, and is significantly more roughed up.
Some mild bad language and probably some mild violence later on.
