Happy November!
It’s that time of year again! Here at SAD we’ve hosted a variety of holiday events. This year we decided to look back in time and see which event YOU all seemed to enjoy the most. By far, the most activity came from our first 'Tis the Season event back in 2023. So this year, we will be bringing it back for our December event! ![]()
The great fun of 'Tis the Season is that you get to gift fics or art to anyone and everyone you want! There is no length or subject requirement aside from our standard site rules. Just have fun and let your creativity run wild! But! If you need a little inspiration, we’ve put together a festive prompt list for those of you who want to do something holiday-related:
1. Brought to You by Hallmark
2. I Came to Sleigh
3. The Grinchiest of Smiles
4. Pumpkin-Flavored Everything
5. I Worship Santa
6. Family Holiday Portrait
7. Stocking Stuffer
8. Silver and Gold
9. You’ll Go Down in History
10. A Blanket of Snow
11. Fall On Your Knees
12. With Love, From Me to You
13. He’s Wearing Plaid?!
14. The Relative No One Likes
15. Have Yourself a Merry Little Climax
16. Peppermint Schnapps
17. Stuck Inside
18. My Secret Santa
19. Now, That’s Festive!
20. What’s a Chestnut?
If you’ve never gifted a fic or art piece on SAD, just look for the option on the Add New Story page. Recipients will automatically receive an email alert notifying them that they’ve received a gift when your new story is posted.
As always, make sure you also check the 'Tis The Season event box before posting.
But wait, there’s more!
We will also be bringing back the 12 Days of Commenting challenge. At the start of December, we will reveal this challenge in full. Completing all the commenting tasks in this challenge is a fun way to discover new fic and to shower them with comment love! There will be a chart to fill out as you go to track your progress and share with the SADmins at the end of the month for a special event award. Look for more details on this part of the event on December 1.
Awards will be given to authors, artists, commenters, and betas for this event, in addition to the special 12 Days of Commenting challenge award.
We’ll also be organizing a virtual holiday bash on Discord. We’ve had a lot of fun with these over the years. If you’re not a member of our Discord community yet, make sure you join in so you can vote on the party time and be sure to join in. Sometimes we play tug of war with fic prompts, sometimes Chelle drinks too many Spuffy-themed cocktails (courtesy of Girlytek and bookishy), sometimes Dusty tries to organize trivia games that give you only 2 seconds to answer. The point is, you never know what’s gonna happen at a SAD holiday party! You just have to be there. And we hope you are.
That’s all for now! Tune in on Dec 1 for commenting details! Until then, have a lovely November and enjoy your gift plotting! ![]()

I am stupidly excited for this and cannot wait to get creating. 🎄🕎
Excited for this! And I love the prompts - they're so fun!
Oh, this is such a marvelous idea, and so sweet! Crossing my fingers I’ll be able to participate as much as I can for this event!!
Thank you, Mods!! ![]()

I hope to comment the HELL out of this challenge!
I'm neither a writer nor an artist, but I remember the 12 day commenting event, that I enjoyed it and discovered/rediscovered a bunch of wonderful stories. So I recommend it to all "just readers/commenters" like me :)
Sounds like there'll be something for everyone!

I AM SO EXCITED!!! December and Short and Spuffy are my favorite events. It truly feels like a community when everyone is so generous with their gifted fics and artwork, and the gathering on Discord is a whirlwind of fast-paced chatter that is so much fun.
I'm finally recovered from the last event (I hope everyone else is, too!) so I'm stoked for December. LET'S GOOOOOOO!
