My first road-trip fic! 

While in general I enjoy the concept of Spuffy + road trips, I’ve never tried writing it before because of a few things: firstly, I am not big on driving myself and I’ve never been on a road trip, not even as a passenger. Secondly, I know absolutely nothing about roads, traffic, and driving in the USA. 

But when SAD Wanderlust was announced, my brain went into overdrive (pun intended?). Time travels still confuse me way too much and I’ve already used a portal in my Legend Has It fic back in September; so I settled on the “classic” road trip and a couple of days later the idea hit me like a tsunami. 

To make it short, I did a little bit of research about distances and driving time and about convenience stores and gas stations and a few more things. It was certainly not what I’d call an “extensive” research and I relied a lot on the fact that when taking real-life things into a fictional world, rules can be tweaked and adapted. And I tried my best to avoid getting into details. 

Nonetheless, discrepancies might happen and I apologize in advance if that breaks your suspension of belief.
