Buffy goes home to see her mom and finds Spike having chocolate with her.
A request for explanations leads to unearthing some ethical issues about the Initiative and Joyce gets caught in the middle of a verbal fight between Buffy and Spike, for which she develops an interesting theory.
Set in S4, some time between eps. 4x11 “Doomed” and 4x12 “A New Man.”

This story is set in my “Domestic Unbliss” ’verse but it’s not in any way related to the other stories in the series and can be read as a standalone.
The general vibe of the series is Buffy having to deal with Spike hanging out at her place, with her family, for whatever reason.

This story started with me wanting to have a little fun at Buffy’s expenses, by playing with Joyce’s overall good disposition toward Spike. It ended up going in a slightly different—but hopefully still fun—direction.
