Story Notes: Written for the Short and Spuffy 2023 Drabble event! I had an entirely different idea when this first was announced, and then I realized it would be too complex so I settled on this one... which was already in my ideas folder but which I always knew wasn't REALLY something I was going to spend a lot of time and effort on. Of course, this may also turn out to be more complex of an idea than I was expecting, but, as insane as it is to try and write a sequential and depressing story without having any idea what the future prompts will be, this is what I'm doing. And I'm so HYPED for the challenge! The chapter titles will be the prompts.
 
Banner by the greatest friend a girl could have, honeygirl51885, and I kind of always gush over my banners, but... are you kidding me? Have you SEEN this one? And I gave her EXTREMELY little to work with, and she handed me this masterpiece! (And also it's now updated to include the event tag, because she didn't want me to feel left out )
 
*WARNING for suicidal themes and ideation... I put that "attempted suicide" in the tags but I wanted to explain it more! This is early S6, and Buffy is looking a little more fondly at a trip back to heaven than she did in canon. But she will not actually be committing suicide in this story, nor making THAT serious of an attempt, because as much as I relate to the depression my girl goes through this season, and as close as I believe she might come to it some days, I think she's strong enough to never actually go through with it. She just needs some (loving vampire) help remembering that.
