Summary: It's been two months since Meg the Shawoman sent Buffy and Spike on a series of trials, and since then the Initiative has been taken down, Spike's chip is gone, and our favorite pair is happily dating. Except... not so happily, not lately, as they begin to wonder if they've moved faster than they were ready for. And now Ethan Rayne has turned Giles into a Fyarl demon, and Buffy and Spike must again turn to Meg and undergo another set of her trials, in the hopes of breaking the spell, and possibly saving their relationship. This takes place around the episode "A New Man."
