Story Notes: This is a birthday gift for honeygirl51885, and if you know that the numbers in her name are her birthday, you'll notice that this is a little bit early!


And the REASON for that is, because the first year when she and I first started talking and I knew I wanted to write a gift fic for her, she'd just had a baby in the same month as her birthday. And in the US, that month also has Mother's Day, which she could be celebrated for for the first time! And ever since I've wanted to write a fic that somehow covered the span of all those three days in May, but I haven't been able to find the right fic or the right year for it.


Then, when I was deciding what to write her this year, I remembered her telling me that in 2024, she's mostly been in the mood to read angst, and AH. And I LOVE reading AH, but it's somehow really hard for me to come up with ideas for it, so I looked at my saved challenges on EF for inspiration, and lo and behold, I had one that I grabbed awhile ago because it looked interesting! I'll post it at the end of this fic.

I didn't have any plans for that challenge when I saved it, but looking at it again, this whole story pretty much fell right out of me. SO, from now until May 18th, I'll be posting a chapter every day, which will cover her daughter's birthday, her own birthday, and Mother's Day.
